Reagan Buckley
Baseball
Reagan Buckley has been an athlete his entire life, and still trains and competes to this day. With a background in football, track, and baseball, he believes being an athlete first is a must in all sports. Buckley Performance is built around that premise. Reagan was an all-state quarterback a Lamar High School and was a collegiate All-America selection at HBU in baseball. Upon graduating from HBU he played professionally for 8 years. He competed in a Masters Track and Field Championship in France and won the inaugural Houston D10 at age 42. He's worked with boys ages 4-22 for over 20 years in baseball, track, and strength training.
Mark Quinn
Baseball
A former Major League outfielder who played for the Kansas City Royals. Quinn was drafted in the 11th round of the 1995 Amateur Draft after playing two seasons for the Rice University Owls. While at Rice he was selected to the All SWC, All American team, and was team MVP in 1995. On the 1995 team he was teammates with Lance Berkman and Jose Cruz, Jr. On September 14, 1999 Quinn became just the third player in MLB history to hit two home runs in his Major League debut. In 2000 Quinn was named Sporting News AL Rookie of the Year. In four seasons with the Royals in the Major Leagues, Quinn batted .282 with 45 home runs, 72 doubles, 167 RBI, in 293 games.
Matt Clark
Baseball
Professional baseball player with 14+ years of experience. Matt played college baseball for the LSU Tigers and was the National Leader in homeruns with 28. He’s played professionally with the San Diego Padres, New York Mets and in the major leagues with the Milwaukee Brewers. He played two seasons in Japan with the Chunichi Dragons and Orix Buffaloes. Also, he played internationally with Team USA and Team Mexico winning a silver and bronze medal. Finishing his career in Mexico for la Liga Mexicana Profesional. Matt is skilled in all facets of the game and utilizes his knowledge and experience to coach youth in the Houston area. At Buckley Performance, Matt optimizes hitting lessons with the aid of both HitTrax and Trackman to fine tune areas of growth.
Rafi Gross
Baseball
Coach Gross was scouted out of the Dominican Republic at the age of 17; he joined the Los Angeles Dodgers camp in 1993 as an infielder / third baseman. Gross played in the minor leagues with both the Dodgers and Cleveland Indians before sustaining an injury that put his career on hold in 1999. At that time, Gross was told that he could not bat again due to the injury and the ensuing hardware placed in his shoulder to repair said injury. Following recovery and rehab, Gross’s cousins taught him how to pitch, and he returned to the Indians as a relief pitcher. In 2001, he joined the Northern League (independent baseball) with the Winnipeg Goldeyes, eyeing the opportunity to transition to becoming a starting pitcher. While with the Goldeyes, Gross earned Pitcher of the Year honors and was named to the Northern League all-star team three years in a row, while additionally earning placement on Baseball America's all-independent first team twice. In four seasons with the Goldeyes, he finished with a record of 36 wins, 9 losses, and a 2.80 ERA as a starting pitcher. During his stint in the Northern League, Gross was called up to the Chicago Cubs, where he made the 40-man pre-season roster; however, he was sidelined again with a pitching injury. He returned for another two successful seasons with the Northern League before retiring as a player and moving onto the coaching ranks. Gross has subsequently coached youth baseball in the Greater Houston area for the past 10+ years, coaching various high school teams, including the Strake Jesuit High School summer team, Los Tigres -- 13U through 16U -- and Texas Twelve, in addition to also coaching several younger squads (Los Tigres 9U through 12U). Coach Gross has been training young athletes individually for over 16 years, with many of his trainees going on to play college baseball; two have gone on to play at the MLB level.
E'leyna Garcia
Women's Lacrosse
E’leyna Garcia played collegiate lacrosse at Guilford College, in Greensboro, NC, a member of the Old-Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC). During her time at Guilford, she was a four-year starter, two-season Captain, earned the team's Rookie of the Year, a two-time First Team All-ODAC Selection as an attacker, ODAC Player of the Year, ODAC Scholar Athlete of the Year, IWLCA All-Chesapeake Region First-Team, IWLCA All-American, Synapse Sports All-American, and 2x CoSIDA Academic All-American. In 2013, E’leyna was ranked #1 in the nation for goals scored, with 99 for the season. She received Guilford's Best Female Athlete Award in 2013 and 2014. E'leyna graduated with at least seven school records, including career points (364), goals in a game (10, 2x), season (99, 2013) and career (287). Upon graduation, her 287 goals stood second in ODAC history and 11th in NCAA Division III history. She left Guilford with the NCAA Division III record for consecutive games with at least one goal (70). E'leyna was Guilford's first ever women's lacrosse Conference Player of the Year, Scholar Athlete of the Year, All-American, and Academic All-American. After graduation, she became the assistant lacrosse coach at Howard University (D1) and Catholic University (D3) for one year, respectively. E'leyna additionally was the head JV coach for Thomas Jefferson High School in Virginia and coached various levels (elementary through high school) with the Next Level Lacrosse Spartans (travel club) in Maryland. She is currently the owner and director of South Coast Lacrosse, a travel club with elite teams grades 4th-11th. E'leyna is also the head coach for the girls varsity lacrosse program at Memorial High School. Professionally, E’leyna has her PhD in Clinical Child Psychology.
